Nothing is more critical to our future than the education of our children. ART Excel, The Art of Living's 5H Schools in India, and Care for Children provide a quality of education that is mostly absent from our traditional education.

The ART Excel program (All 'Round Training in Excellence) is designed to develop human values in youth by teaching self-development and stress-management skills. ART Excel also supports the overall health and happiness of children and teens by teaching them a variety of self-empowering techniques that foster peace of mind, mental clarity and focus, physical relaxation, greater emotional stability and overall well-being.

The 5H Program -- health, hygiene, homes, human values, and harmony in diversity -- uplifts individuals, families, communities, and nations so that the finest human qualities are nurtured and the full potential of human life can be expressed throughout society. Ultimately, the long term goal is far-reaching social transformation, where poverty, misery and disease are eradicated, and where peace and harmony prevail throughout the world.

Social transformation begins with a happy and healthy individual who has attained a decent standard of living and has received essential education in health, hygiene, and life skills. Addressing sub-standard housing and sanitation alone cannot result in the long-term eradication of misery nor bring about a fundamental social transformation.

Education is essential, particularly education in human values. Once the material conditions of living have reached an adequate level, there is a possibility for true human-ness to be expressed in life. A sense of belonging, sharing, non-violence, caring for life, and caring for the planet are among the values that need to be nurtured. The development of human values is essential to create loving and happy families, cohesive communities, and harmonious relations among all people and nations -- a pre-requisite for peace, harmony and well-being on the planet.

Care for Children provides education for children who would otherwise not have this opportunity. Transportation, meals, uniforms and medical care are provided along with an excellent education that covers both the basics and nuturing human values.

Care for Children presently has programs in India, Uganda, Botswana, and Panama where thousands of children have been provided with many of their basic needs.
